The Artist Says:

“This piece tells a story of deep connection of people, place, culture, spirit, languages, and the path that weave us together across time. It centres around connection, strength and the core of community.

At the core of the design, is a large gathering circle. This represents a place where we come together and share stories, knowledge and support one another. The layers radiating outwards, reflect generations, past, present and future, each one intertwined with the other.

For me the circular patterns also represent life and symbolise continuity reminding us that culture is alive and woven in country.

The detailed line work and patterns reflect paths travelled by individuals, families and our people before us. All paths lead back to connection and belonging to country, it is something that will always ground us
